Hello all
I am installing oracle 8i on win2000
i dint take backup of my database
my system was crashed. how can i restore my oracle data from hard disk please give me a solution detail

Hi Tina,
I guess there's no way to recover if you've no backup.
You can try to recreate the database with blank datafiles and copy the old ones instead, but this is a hardly bloody way and I don't know if it's working. I'd never tried that.

minimum requirement to try ot recover
1) atleast one good controlfile
2) system tablespace should be intact
3) archive logs .
If you have these three it will depend on the consistency of the controlfile and the system tablespace and the archive logs.
If you do not have either "Lord Have Mercy"
